Responsibilities

Before the conference Chairs will be responsible for writing a research report on each of their committee’s topics (following guidance from the Secretariat) to be sent to the delegates. After delegates submit their position papers, the Chairs will be responsible for reading them.
During committee sessions Chairs are responsible for guiding and moderating debate.
Chairs will be responsible for awarding their committee’s Best Delegate, Honourable Mention, and Best Position Paper awards.

1. Age
- Junior Division:
  Applicants must at least 15 years of age at the time of the conference.
- Senior Division:
  Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of the conference.
2. English Proficiency
- For both divisions applicants must have a strong command of the English language (a minimum level of C1 in CEFRL or equivalent). Proof of English competency will be required as part of the application. This can be in any form including, but not limited to, any certificate of English language proficiency, having studied at an English-taught school, having taken English classes at a non-English-taught school or outside of school, etc.
3. Prior Experience
- Main Chair:
  In order to ensure that our committee sessions are professional and X, we require Chair applicants to have previous Model UN experience, though it does not have to be chairing experience. Applicants’ experience will also influence the committee allocation.
- Vice-Chair:
  Applicants are strongly encouraged to have Model UN experience, though we will also consider inexperienced applicants so long as they otherwise demonstrate that they are capable and motivated.
